How Do I Run a Distribution?

For SponsorsBy Syndelo

How to calculate a payout, save it for approval, and get it approved and paid.

Distributions are called payouts in Syndelo. You calculate one on the Money page, save it as a draft, and a different team member approves it. If no one else in your workspace can approve, you can approve it yourself after confirming your password and a code. Approval creates payment instructions; money moves when you send ACH, upload a NACHA file, or pay manually.

Calculate the payout

  1. Go to Money > Payments & Payouts and click Prepare Payout.
  2. Choose Use Payout Rules (the waterfall) or Enter Custom Amounts.
  3. Enter the Payout Name and choose the Investment.
  4. Under How Much to Distribute, choose A fixed amount (then enter the Total Payout Budget), Pay All Debt Steps (calculate what is owed), or All available cash.
  5. Set Earning Period Starts and Earning Period Ends (This Date Is Not Included). Optionally set a Record Date (Optional) and Payment Date (Optional).
  6. Review the payout rules. If the investment has approved return and fee terms, those are used and can't be edited here.
  7. Optionally add Withholding and Deductions for specific accounts.
  8. Click Calculate Allocations.

Review and save

Under Review Allocations, check each account's preference, capital returned, and total, plus the cash and reinvestment split, fees, and the Allocation Grid. You can Export CSV after the payout is saved. Click Save For Approval.

To reuse the rules next time, click Save as Investment Defaults before calculating.

Approve

  1. On the Distributions tab of Money, click Review on the draft.
  2. A different team member clicks Approve Payout. The preparer can instead Discard Draft.

After approval, use Send Payments by ACH in the same window, or a NACHA file. See How Do I Send Payouts by ACH? and How Do I Create a NACHA File?.

Verify Saved Calculation reruns the saved inputs to confirm the result.

Syndelo is in preview. eSign and investor payments require live provider setup; a demo or sandbox action does not complete a live transaction. Confirm availability for your workspace before relying on either.
