How Do Investors Reinvest Their Payouts?

How to turn on payout reinvestment and set each investor's cash or reinvest choice.

Investors can take payouts in cash, reinvest them, or split the two, once you turn on reinvestment for the investment.

Turn on reinvestment

  1. Open the investment and go to the Investors tab.
  2. In Payout Preferences, click Reinvestment Settings.
  3. Tick Enable Payout Reinvestment and confirm The Investment Terms Permit This Reinvestment Policy.

Turning it off sets future payouts to cash.

Set an investor's choice

  1. In Payout Preferences, click Edit Payout Choice on the investor's row.
  2. Choose a Choice Type: Percentage Reinvestment (0% is all cash, 100% is all reinvested) or Fixed Cash, Reinvest Remainder.
  3. Set the Start Date and confirm you have the investor's consent.

Each payout uses the choice in place when it is prepared. Approved payouts keep their saved choice. Reinvested money stays in the same investment and share class.
