What Do the Raise Statuses Mean?

For SponsorsBy Syndelo

What Draft, Upcoming, Open, Closed, and Paused mean on a raise, and how a raise moves between them.

A raise's status sits next to the investment's name. It tells you whether investors can see the raise and whether they can apply.

Statuses

  • Draft: you're still setting it up. Investors can't see it.
  • Upcoming: investors who can see it can reserve a spot, if reservations are on. No one can apply yet.
  • Open: investors who can see it can apply.
  • Closed: new applications have stopped. Existing applications and obligations carry on. A raise being cancelled also reads Closed.
  • Paused: a closed offering on a fund that investors join and leave over time. New investors can't apply. Existing investors and their notes aren't affected.

The Deal Room panel on the Overview tab reads Live while a raise is upcoming or open, and Not Live otherwise.

Moving Between Statuses

| To Do This | Use | |---|---| | Draft to Upcoming | Raise Settings, then Announce as Upcoming | | Draft to Open | Review & Open | | Upcoming to Open | Open Raise | | Open to Closed or Paused | Raise Settings, then Close Raise or Pause New Investments | | Closed or Paused to Open | Review & Open |

Good to Know

  • A raise only opens when you open it, even if the Planned Opening time has passed.
  • Passing the target close date doesn't close a raise. The dashboard reads Close Date, and you close it yourself.
  • Cancelling is different from closing and can't be undone. See How Do I Close or Cancel a Raise?.
  • For why a raise won't open, see Why Can't I Open or Announce My Raise?.
