Why Does an Approval Ask for My Password and a Code?

For SponsorsBy Syndelo

Explains the Confirm Your Approval window and common approval errors.

Sensitive actions like payouts, exits, and reviews open Confirm Your Approval. You enter a Review Reason, your Current Password, and a security code, then click Record Approval. This proves it's really you approving those exact details.

What the Window Shows

  • Amount: the money involved, or "Terms or more than one entry".
  • Required Reviewers: how many must approve, and whether an owner who did not prepare it is required. It shows Just You when no one else in your workspace can approve.
  • Approval Lasts For: minutes before your approval expires.
  • Policy: the approval policy version.

Steps

  1. Read the summary and details.
  2. Enter a Review Reason (at least 10 characters).
  3. Enter your Current Password and the security code.
  4. Click Record Approval.

Common Problems

  • "The details or review rules changed." Someone edited the record or the policy. Click Close Review, refresh, check the new details, and approve again.
  • Approval expired: all required reviewers must approve within the time shown. Start a new review.
  • Wrong password or code: the fields clear; try again.
  • You can't approve something you prepared while someone else in your workspace can approve it. If you're the only approver, you can approve your own work after confirming your password and a code. Invite a teammate to add a second check.

Good to know

  • Your approval covers only the details shown. Review again if they change or a reviewer loses access.
  • After you confirm your password and a code, Syndelo doesn't ask again for 15 minutes in the same browser. You still enter a review reason. Approving your own work alone always asks again. Signing out ends this, and requests from API keys and AI assistants never skip the check.
  • Set the rules in Approval Rules. Set up codes in Two-Factor Authentication.

Syndelo is in preview. eSign and investor payments require live provider setup; a demo or sandbox action does not complete a live transaction. Confirm availability for your workspace before relying on either.
