Syndelo can send each investment's posted journal entries to QuickBooks Online as journal entries, so your bookkeeper doesn't have to re-enter them from a spreadsheet.
Connect QuickBooks
- Open Settings and choose Integrations under Connections.
- Under QuickBooks Online, click Connect QuickBooks.
- Sign in to Intuit, choose the company, and approve access.
You can connect more than one company, for example one per entity. Connecting requires permission to edit workspace settings. Click Disconnect to stop. Entries already in QuickBooks stay there.
If QuickBooks access expires or is revoked, the company shows Reconnect Needed and Syndelo emails your workspace owners. Click Reconnect and approve access again.
Map Accounts for an Investment
- Open Money and choose the Accounting tab.
- Choose an Investment, then the QuickBooks tab.
- Choose the QuickBooks Company this investment's books belong to.
- For each Syndelo account, choose a QuickBooks Account. Accounts whose number or name matches your accounting codes are suggested.
- Click Save Account Map.
Only accounts this investment has used are listed. Click Show All Accounts to map the rest ahead of time. If you add an account in QuickBooks, click Refresh Accounts.
Push Entries
Under Push Entries, choose the From and Through dates and click Push to QuickBooks. Each posted journal entry becomes one QuickBooks journal entry with one line per account. Investor-level detail stays in Syndelo.
- Only posted entries are sent. Corrections and other requests waiting for approval never leave Syndelo.
- Entries already in QuickBooks are skipped, so pushing the same dates again never creates duplicates.
- Tick Push each period automatically when it closes to send each period as soon as its close is approved.
Fix Problems
The Sync Log lists each push with how many entries were sent, skipped, or failed. Entries that failed are listed under Entries That Didn't Sync with the reason, such as an account that isn't mapped yet. Fix the problem, then click Retry Failed Entries.
Changing a journal entry in QuickBooks does not change Syndelo. To correct an entry, prepare a correction in Syndelo; once it is approved and posted, it is pushed like any other entry.
