Funding instructions tell investors where to send money. Set them once for your workspace and every investment uses them, unless an investment has its own account. New bank details must be verified before investors see them.
Set your workspace default
- Go to Settings > Funding Instructions (open). You can also click Set Them for the Whole Workspace in the Funding Instructions panel of your first investment.
- Click Add Default Instructions.
- Enter the wire details and, if you take checks, the check details. The beneficiary name and address start from your company profile or the investment's issuer. Type the Routing Number (ABA) and we check it and, when available, fill in the bank name and address.
- Click Submit for Review, or Verify and Save if you're the only approver (see below).
To fill the form from your bank's wire instruction letter, click Fill From a Bank Letter and upload the PDF or a photo. Check every filled value against the letter. A routing number that fails the ABA check is left blank. The details still need verification like any new bank details, and we never accept instructions from an email.
Verifying a change
A different team member with Finance Approver permission opens Review Change, checks the details through a trusted channel, and approves. Until then investors keep seeing the current instructions.
If no one else in your workspace has Finance Approver permission, you verify in the same step: tick I Confirmed These Details Through a Trusted Channel, Such as a Call to My Bank, confirm with your password and an emailed code, and click Verify and Save.
When an investment uses a different account
Investments without their own instructions show Inherited From Workspace. To use another account for one investment, open its Funding Instructions panel and click This Investment Uses a Different Account. To go back, click Use Workspace Default.
You can also copy verified instructions from another investment with Use Instructions From Another Investment. Search for the investment, tick This Investment Receives Money in This Same Account, and confirm with your password and an emailed code. No new bank details come in, so the copy is verified right away.
When instructions change
When verified instructions change, sponsors with bank permission get a notification. Investors with an open subscription get an email and a portal notice telling them to check the new details. The email has no bank details. Their funding page says the instructions changed after they subscribed and reminds them to confirm by phone before sending money.
Investors see the instructions after they subscribe, with the exact amount and a reference code.
Funding notices
Investors can tell you they have sent money. These appear under Funding Notices on the raise's Investors tab. A notice is not proof of payment. Once the investor's pledge is accepted, Syndelo turns each notice into a Payment In, so you only approve it and confirm receipt when the money arrives. To use a Payment In you already made, click Review on the notice and pick it. See How Do I Record a Payment From an Investor?.
Syndelo is in preview. eSign and investor payments require live provider setup; a demo or sandbox action does not complete a live transaction. Confirm availability for your workspace before relying on either.
