Investors are more likely to open and trust email that comes from your firm. Syndelo can send from your own domain, or through your own mailbox.
Send From Your Firm's Domain
An owner or admin sets this up once. You need access to your domain's DNS, usually at your registrar (such as GoDaddy or Namecheap) or Cloudflare.
- Go to Settings and choose Sending Domain under Brand & Messages.
- Enter your domain, such as yourfirm.com, and click Add Domain.
- Add each record in the DNS Records table at your DNS provider. Use Copy to copy the exact name and value.
- Click Check Again. Syndelo also checks every 15 minutes on its own.
When the required records are found, the domain shows Verified. Most DNS changes appear within an hour. If the records still aren't found after 72 hours, the domain shows Failed with the reason. Fix the records and click Check Again.
What the Records Do
- Ownership proves your workspace controls the domain. Each workspace gets its own.
- Signing (DKIM) lets receiving mail servers confirm the email really came from your domain.
- Sender Policy (SPF) and Bounce Handling help delivery. They're recommended, not required.
- Policy (DMARC) tells mail servers what to do with email that fails these checks. Recommended. Start with the value shown. If your domain already has a DMARC record, keep yours.
If your DNS provider adds your domain to names for you, enter only the part before it. If your domain already has an SPF record, add the part shown to your existing record instead of adding a second one.
Add From Addresses
Under From Addresses, click Add Address. Enter the address (such as investors), the Name Investors See (such as Investor Relations), and an optional Reply-To Address. Under Who Can Send From It, choose Anyone Who Emails Investors, or Only These People for a personal address like a partner's.
The mailbox itself (for example investors@yourfirm.com) should exist at your email provider so replies land somewhere.
Automatic Emails
Under Automatic Emails, choose the address that notices, reminders and invitations come from, and click Save. Only verified addresses everyone can use are listed. If the domain stops verifying, automatic emails go back to noreply@syndelo.com until it's fixed, and admins get a notification.
Send From Your Own Mailbox
- Connect Gmail or Microsoft 365 in Settings → Email & Mailboxes. See How Do I Connect My Mailbox and Log Emails?
- On your connected mailbox, click Allow Sending and approve the request to send email.
- When you email investors, choose My Mailbox in the From field.
The email goes out through your mailbox, so it shows in your Sent folder and replies come back to you. It's still logged on the investor's timeline with open and click tracking. Only you can send from your mailbox. Campaigns from your own mailbox go to up to 200 people at a time and send more slowly, so your provider doesn't block them. Investor updates always use a workspace sender.
To stop, click Stop Sending. Syncing keeps working.
When a Sender Stops Working
Syndelo never switches to a different sender without telling you. If a domain stops verifying, an address is removed, or your mailbox connection expires, that email isn't sent and you see why. A campaign shows the reason next to each recipient that failed. Reconnect the mailbox or fix the domain, then send again or pick another sender.
