Tax held back from payouts shows under Withholding Obligations on the Receipts & Refunds tab of Accounting. Pay the tax agency outside Syndelo first, then record it there. Syndelo doesn't send the payment.
Steps
- Go to Accounting, choose the Investment, and open Receipts & Refunds.
- Under Withholding Obligations, click Record External Remittance on the line.
- Enter the External Settlement Date, Tax Authority, External Payment Reference, Tax Period, Remitted Amount (USD) and Review Notes.
- Choose the Receipt Document, or click Upload New Document to add it there.
- Tick I Confirm This Payment Has Already Settled Outside Syndelo. and click Prepare for Review.
- Someone else clicks Review Details, then approves it, under Waiting for Review on Close the Books.
Approval lowers the tax owed and cash on the books by that amount.
Good to Know
- The table shows Withheld, Remitted and Remaining for each line. You can't record more than what remains on that line.
- The date can't fall in a closed period.
- The same tax authority and payment reference can't be recorded twice.
- Preparing takes permission to prepare payments and payouts. Approving takes Finance Approver permission. If no one else can approve, you can approve it yourself after confirming your password and a code.
