What Do Accreditation Statuses Mean?

For Sponsors and InvestorsBy Syndelo

What each accreditation check status means and what to do next.

Each accreditation check shows a status badge. The status comes from Accredd, the outside provider that runs the check, and Syndelo checks for updates in the background.

Statuses

  • Queued: the request is saved and waiting to be sent to the provider.
  • Submitting: Syndelo is sending the details and files.
  • Submission Unknown: Syndelo could not confirm the provider received the request. It will keep checking. Do not submit a duplicate.
  • Submission Failed: Accredd could not accept the submission. Check the documents and details, or contact the sponsor.
  • Processing: the provider has the request and is reviewing it.
  • Verified: the provider confirmed the person or business meets accredited investor rules. A letter is usually available to download.
  • Failed: the provider did not verify the request. Read the Reviewer feedback note for the reason.
  • Expired: the check was verified, but its expiration date has passed. A new check is needed.
  • Test Result: an extra badge shown on checks made in a test environment. These are not live proof.

Steps to refresh a status

  1. Open the check (investors: Accreditation in the portal; sponsors: the investor's profile).
  2. Click Check status. A status check is queued. Reload the page shortly after.

Good to know

  • Check status shows only while a check is queued, processing, submitting, submission unknown, or verified, and only when checks are connected and enabled.
  • If a check was verified but the letter is missing, Syndelo shows a note and retries the letter download.
  • A verified check with no expiration date should be confirmed with the provider before you rely on it.
  • Answers an investor gives about themselves are not the same as a verified check.
