How Do I Issue a Capital Call?

For SponsorsBy Syndelo

How to prepare a capital call, get it approved, and send notices to investors.

You prepare a capital call from the investment page, and a different team member reviews and issues it. If no one else in your workspace can approve, you can approve it yourself after confirming your password and a code. Investors are emailed a notice once it is issued.

Prepare the capital call

  1. Open the investment from All Investments.
  2. Click Prepare Capital Call at the top of the page. This button appears for single deals and equity funds.
  3. Choose an Allocation Method:
    • Pro rata across callable pledges splits the amount across all investors with unfunded pledges.
    • Pro rata within selected classes splits it only across the classes you tick.
    • Custom account amounts lets you type an amount for each account. Leave an account blank to exclude it.
  4. Enter the Call Title, Total Call Amount (USD), Due Date, and Purpose and Allocation Basis.
  5. Click Save for Review.

Saving creates a draft. Investors cannot see or fund a draft. Available funds exclude money already paid in, pending payments, and other open capital calls.

Review and issue it

  1. Open the investment's Capital Calls tab and click the call's title.
  2. Check the proposed amount for each investor.
  3. A team member who can approve finance actions clicks Review and Issue Call.

When the call is issued, investors see it in their portal with their share, the amount received, and the due date.
