Why Can't I Sign or Send an Agreement?

Most signing problems come down to order or authority. Agreements are signed in the listed order, and only the named person, signed in with the email on the agreement, can open their signature.

I Don't See Review & Sign

• It isn't your turn yet. Earlier signers must finish first.
• You already signed.
• The agreement is no longer awaiting signature. Check its status badge.
• You're signed in with a different email from the one on the agreement.

Signing Messages

• An earlier signer must finish first.: wait for the person before you.
• You have already signed this agreement.: nothing more is needed from you.
• This agreement is not awaiting a signature.: it was completed, declined, cancelled, expired, or replaced.
• Only the named recipient can open this signing session.: sign in with the account the agreement was sent to.
• You no longer have signing authority for this investing account.: your signing permission on the account changed. Ask the sponsor to update it.
• Your signature is still being confirmed.: you signed and the final copy is being sealed. Click Refresh Status later. You don't need to sign again.
• The document is taking longer to open.: close the view and open it again.

For Sponsors: A Signer Isn't in the List

• Investor signers must have a portal sign-in and be authorized to sign for that investing account. If nobody qualifies, the form shows a note under the field. Give the person access from the investor's profile with Manage Portal Access.
• Sponsor signers must be owners or admins.
• For a subscription agreement, the Investor role can only be an investor, and the Sponsor role can only be an owner or admin.

For Sponsors: Preparing or Sending Won't Work

• Tick I Have Reviewed This Agreement and Its Recipients first. The button is off until you do.
• Only a draft agreement can be sent.: the agreement has already been sent or ended. Check its status.
• Choose an authorized signer for a role: the person chosen doesn't qualify for that role. Pick someone else.
• If the workspace is read-only, signing and sending are off.
