How Do I Record a Refund to an Investor Who Is Leaving?

How to record a refund already paid to an investor who is leaving an investment.

Syndelo records refunds you have already sent outside the app. It does not send the money.

Before you start

  • Start the investor's request to leave.
  • Resolve open capital calls and pending payments.
  • Match the original bank deposit and upload the signed release.
  • Refund to the same bank account as the original payment.

Record the refund

  1. Go to Money, open the Accounting tab, and choose the Investment.
  2. In Refunds When Investors Leave, click Record Refund Already Paid.
  3. Choose the Original Payment That Cleared, the Bank Withdrawal That Cleared, and the Signed Release and Proof of Refund.
  4. Explain Why This Refund Belongs to This Account and confirm the checkbox.
  5. Click Send to Another Reviewer.

Another finance reviewer checks the proof and confirms with their password and security code. Approval lowers cash and the investor's funded amount and keeps the original payment record.
