How Do I Respond to a Capital Call?

For InvestorsBy Syndelo

How investors see what a capital call asks for and how to pay it.

When your sponsor calls capital, the portal shows "You have an active capital call." Open the investment, check Still Due, and choose Fund Now.

Steps

  1. On Home or My Investments, choose View Details on the capital call banner. The call is also under Needs Your Attention.
  2. On the investment page, find the call card. It shows Your Share, Received, In Progress, Still Due, and Due Date.
  3. Choose Fund Now (or Fund Now · account name if several of your accounts owe money).
  4. Follow the instructions to pay by wire, check, or ACH, depending on what your sponsor offers.
  5. If you paid outside the portal, report it under Already Sent the Money?.

Good to know

  • You only see your own share, not the total call.
  • "Your payment is on its way." means a payment is in progress for the full amount. The call is marked funded when it arrives.
  • "Thank you. This call is fully funded." means nothing more is owed.
  • If there is no Fund Now button, your sponsor will send instructions. Contact them for wire or ACH details.
  • The Capital Calls table on the investment page lists every call, with Your Share, Due, and Status.
  • Paying late or not paying may have consequences under your investment documents. Contact your sponsor if you cannot pay by the due date.
