For a fund that allows it, open the fund from Funds and choose Request to Cash Out. For other investments, or to move a position to another owner, contact your sponsor. They record transfers.
Request a cash out from a fund
- Open Investments, then Funds.
- Choose the fund.
- Check the fund terms: the cash-out schedule, notice period, lockup, and Next cash-out date.
- Choose Request to Cash Out.
- Choose the Investing Account and class, and enter Units to Redeem (up to six decimal places).
- If early withdrawals are allowed and you want to sell locked units, check the penalty box.
- Optionally pick a Funding Source to receive the money, and submit.
Good to know
- Requests need sponsor approval and enough cash in the fund. Gates can limit how much is paid out in one window.
- Hold and Cash-Out Dates shows each purchase's lockup end and next date you can sell without a fee.
- If the fund is closed-ended, there is no Request to Cash Out button. Investors cannot cash out.
- Early withdrawal penalties stay in the fund.
- To add money to a fund, choose Request Subscription.
- For transfers to a trust, a family member, or a buyer, your sponsor needs signed paperwork and records the transfer for you. Your investment documents may restrict transfers.
