In a debt fund, each investor's loan is a promissory note. Add notes on the investment's Investor Loans tab, and see every note across investments under Investments > Investor Loans (Promissory Notes).
Set up debt classes
On the investment's Investor Loans tab, the Debt Classes panel sets default terms for new notes. Click Add Debt Class or Edit Defaults. Changing defaults does not change notes already issued.
Add a note
- Click Add Note in the Promissory Notes panel. The investor needs a position in a debt class.
- Choose the Position and enter the Principal, Issue Date, Annual Rate (blank uses the class rate), and term.
- Optionally set the First Payment Date, Issue Number, and scheduled paydowns with Add Roll-Off.
- Click Save Note.
View a note
Click a note to see principal outstanding, interest paid, interest earned but not paid, the next payment, and its Schedule and Transactions.
Under Note Actions you can Edit Terms or Cancel Note. Cancel only notes added by mistake. Once a note has payments, its principal, rate, dates, and interest method are locked.
Pay off a note
- Open the note and click Pay Off Note.
- Choose the Pay-Off Date, Principal to Repay (blank repays it all), and Type (Pay-Off or Roll-Off (Scheduled Paydown)).
- Click Calculate to see the total, then Create Draft.
This creates a payout draft. Nothing is paid until a different team member approves it on Money.

The Promissory Notes page has Debt Report and Note Activity CSV downloads.
Syndelo is in preview. eSign and investor payments require live provider setup; a demo or sandbox action does not complete a live transaction. Confirm availability for your workspace before relying on either.
