Open the investor, click More Actions, then Edit Profile. You need permission to edit investor records.
Steps
- Open the investor from Investors. Or open the Actions menu on their row and click Edit Investor.
- Change what you need:
- Contact Details: First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Phone Number, Investor Type, and Company, Trust, or Account Name.
- Mailing Address: street, unit, city, state, ZIP, and Country.
- Tax and Identity: Date of Birth, Gender, Tax ID Type, and SSN or EIN.
- Relationship: Relationship Status, Investment Interests, and Profile Notes.
- Click Save.
The saved details show in the Investor Profile panel on their page.
Tax IDs
- Enter all nine digits in SSN or EIN. Leave it blank to keep the saved one.
- Saved tax IDs are encrypted. You only see the last four digits.
- To clear one, check Remove Saved Tax ID.
Good to Know
- This changes the investor's profile, not the legal details on an investing account.
- Custom fields, tags, and groups are edited on the investor's page, not in this window.
- Beneficiaries and statement recipients are under each investing account. See How Do I Add Statement Recipients or Beneficiaries for an Investor?
- If someone else saved the investor while you were editing, you are asked to reload first.
- To change an email address, see How Do I Change an Investor's Email Address?
