How Do I See Every Document Shared With an Investor?

Open an investor from Investors and click Documents under their name. It lists every file this investor can see in the investor portal, in one place.

What It Lists

• Investing account files: statements, payout and capital call notices, tax forms, and other files shared with the accounts they own or can open.
• Investment files: reports and other files shared with everyone in an investment they hold.
• Data room files: files in the data room of each raise they can see, including files shared only with them, such as a side letter. Those show Shared Only With Selected Investors.

Files are grouped by raise or investment, then by category, such as Reports, Tax, and Notices. Files that aren’t tied to an investment are under Account Documents.

The Dates

• Date: when the file was added.
• Emailed: the last time the investor was emailed about this file, such as a new statement, tax form, or notice email.
• First Viewed and Last Viewed: when they first and last opened it in the portal. The count shows how many times they opened it.
• Downloaded: the last time they downloaded it.

Dates come from the investor’s own portal sign-in and anyone with portal access to the accounts they own. If the investor has never signed in, the dates stay blank.

Find a File

• Type in Search by title or file name to narrow the list.
• Use All Categories to show one category.
• Click a file name to preview it. You can download it from the preview.

Good to Know

• This view is read-only. To share, replace, or remove a file, use the Document Library or the raise’s data room.
• A raise with confidentiality terms the investor hasn’t accepted shows Confidentiality Terms Not Accepted. They can’t open those files until they accept.
• Data room files appear only while the investor can see the raise. Files only your team can see never appear here.
• Opening a file here doesn’t count as the investor viewing it.
• The list shows the newest 500 files. Search to find older ones.
