What Happens When an Investor Unsubscribes?

When someone clicks the unsubscribe link in a campaign email, their address goes on your Do-Not-Email List. Campaigns skip it from then on. Notices about investments they hold, like capital calls and documents, still arrive.

What the Investor Sees

The link opens a page asking them to confirm. They click Unsubscribe. They don't need to sign in.

Investor update emails have their own link. It turns off only update emails. Updates stay in the portal, and the investor can turn those emails back on there.

What Stops and What Doesn't

• Campaigns skip the address. So does Send Email for selected investors on the Investors page.
• One-off emails from an investor's page still send. You see a warning first.
• The investor shows the Unsubscribed From Email warning.

See the List

Go to Settings and choose Email & Mailboxes, then scroll to Do-Not-Email List. You can also click Unsubscribed & Blocked Addresses on Email Campaigns. You need permission to write communications to see it.

The Reason column shows why each address is listed:

• Unsubscribed: they used the unsubscribe link.
• Added by Your Team: someone on your team added it.
• Bounced: the mail service reported a permanent bounce.
• Marked as Spam: they reported an email as spam.
• Declined Marketing at Signup: they didn't agree to marketing emails when they signed up.

Add or Remove an Address

1. Under Add an Address, enter the email and click Add to List.
2. To take one off, click Remove.

Remove only appears for addresses your team added. Your team can't take off an address for any other reason. You need permission to publish communications to add or remove addresses.

Why Didn't Someone Get My Campaign?

Open the campaign and check Recipients. Do Not Email means the address is on this list. Skipped and Failed people didn't get it either. Before sending, Review & Send shows how many will be skipped. See How Do I Send an Email Campaign?
