How Do I Add Share Classes or Note Terms?

For SponsorsBy Syndelo

How to add and edit the share classes or note terms investors choose from.

Share classes (or note terms, for debt funds) are the options investors pick when they invest. Add them from the investment's Overview tab.

Add a class

  1. Open the investment from Investments.
  2. On Overview, find the Share Classes panel (or Note Terms for a debt fund).
  3. Click Add Class (or Add Note Term).
  4. For a share class, enter the Class Name, Preferred Return (%), and Payout Priority. For a note term, enter the Note Name, Annual Interest Rate, Term (Months), and an optional Minimum Investment (USD, Optional).
  5. Click Save.

Edit a class

Click Edit next to a class. Besides the name, you can set the Kind (equity or debt), debt terms such as How Long Do Notes Run? or a Maturity Date, a Unit Price (USD, Optional), a Unit Discount, and whether the class is Open for New Investments.

For rate tiers by check size, create one class per tier with its own minimum and maximum.

Choose which classes a raise offers

On the raise's Setup tab, the classes panel lets you choose which classes investors can pick. Check Offer Every Open Class, Including Ones Added Later to offer all of them. When only one class is available, investors skip the class step.

Classes cannot be changed on an archived investment.
