Your investing account's legal details go on your investment forms, so they must match your tax records. You check them during an application and click Save and Continue. Once they're complete, later applications skip this step. If they change later, you may need to Renew Confirmation.
Steps
- In the application, review the legal details step for your account.
- Fill in required fields for your Account Type:
- All: Full Legal Name or Legal Entity Name, SSN or EIN, Street Address, City, State, ZIP Code.
- Joint: Joint Holder's Full Name.
- Trust: Authorized Signer and Signer Title.
- LLC or corporation: State of Formation, Authorized Signer, Signer Title.
- Retirement: Custodian and Authorized Signer.
- Click Save and Continue. If something is missing you'll see "Still needed:" with the fields.
Fill from a document
Choose Fill From a Document and upload a trust certificate, operating agreement, EIN letter, W-9, driver's license or passport. Syndelo reads it and shows what it found, such as the legal name, entity type, state of formation, address, signers and the last four digits of the tax ID. Untick anything that's wrong, choose Use These Details, check the form, and click Save and Continue. Nothing is saved until you do.
The file is read and discarded unless you tick Also Save This File to My Account Documents. A tax ID read from the document is never shown in full; it's saved to your encrypted account details only when you continue. If your sponsor has switched off AI help, this option doesn't appear and you type the details.
Renewing a Confirmation
If you see "Your account details changed after this application was confirmed" or "This application needs a fresh confirmation", review the legal account, address, and tax ID shown, check the statement, and click Renew Confirmation.
Good to know
- Your saved tax ID shows as on file with only the last four digits. Leave it blank to keep it.
- The country starts as United States.
- The account type is locked once the account has applied or invested.
- Renewing an approved application sends it back to your sponsor for review.
