Can I Delete or Merge an Investor?

For SponsorsBy Syndelo

Explains that investors cannot be deleted or merged and what to do instead.

No. Syndelo has no button to delete or merge an investor. Investor records hold investment, payment, tax, and audit history, so they are kept.

Stop working with an investor

  1. Open the investor from Investors.
  2. Click the pencil next to Relationship Status and choose Inactive.
  3. Optionally add a tag like "Do not contact." See How Do I Tag Investors?

Then filter them out of your views using Status.

Stop emailing an investor

Add their address to the Do-Not-Email List in Settings under Email & Mailboxes. Campaigns skip that address. See How Do I Connect My Mailbox and Log Emails?

Handle a duplicate

  1. Decide which record to keep, usually the one with investments or a portal login.
  2. Copy any notes or details you need to the record you keep.
  3. Set the other record's Relationship Status to Inactive and tag it, for example "Duplicate."

Good to know

  • Setting an investor to Inactive does not remove their portal login, accounts, or documents.
  • To remove someone's access to an account, change it under Investor Account Access in Settings under Team.
  • To keep a copy, use Export Investor from the row's Actions menu.

Syndelo is in preview. eSign and investor payments require live provider setup; a demo or sandbox action does not complete a live transaction. Confirm availability for your workspace before relying on either.

Try It With Sample Data

Sign in to the shared demo workspace as a sponsor or as an investor. No signup, and nothing you do there sends real email or moves money.
