How Do I Create and Complete Tasks?

For SponsorsBy Syndelo

How to create, assign, complete, and reopen tasks and follow-ups.

Tasks are next steps for your team. You can create them from the Overview page or from an investor's profile, assign them to a teammate, and check them off when done.

Create a task from the Overview

  1. Go to Overview and find Tasks & Follow-Ups.
  2. Click New Task.
  3. Enter What Needs to Happen? and optional Details.
  4. Choose Assign To, a Due Date, and a Priority (Normal or High).
  5. Save the task.

Create a task for one investor

  1. Open the investor from Investors.
  2. Click Add Task (the checklist icon at the top).
  3. Enter the Task, optional Details, Due Date, Priority, and Assign To.
  4. Click Add Task.

The task is linked to that investor and shows in the Tasks tab of their activity.

Complete or reopen a task

  • Click the checkbox next to a task to mark it complete.
  • Click the check mark on a completed task to reopen it.

Use the tabs Open, Completed, and All to switch views. When nothing is open you see You’re All Caught Up.

Good to know

  • You need permission to edit investor records to create, complete, or reopen tasks. Without it, you can see tasks but the checkboxes do nothing.
  • Only sponsor team members can be assigned. Investors never appear in Assign To.
  • The person you assign gets a notification. Clicking it opens the task on the Overview.
  • High priority tasks show a High badge.
  • Clicking a task linked to an investor opens their profile. A task linked to an opportunity opens that opportunity's Tasks tab.
  • Tasks are sorted with open ones first, then by due date.
  • There is no delete button for tasks. Mark unneeded tasks complete.
