How Do I Let New Investors Sign Up Themselves?

For SponsorsBy Syndelo

Explains how to open self-service investor registration, share the link, choose setup steps, and how signups are approved automatically or by your review.

Go to Settings and choose Investor Signup. You can open registration, copy your link to share, choose whether known investors are approved automatically, and approve or decline everyone else.

Registration works as soon as your workspace is created. New workspaces start with the Minimal setup steps already published, so there is nothing to configure first.

Open registration and share your link

  1. Under Self-Service Registration, click Open Registration.
  2. Under Your investor registration link, click Copy Link. Share it on your website or with a prospective investor.
  3. Click Preview to see the page.

Click Close Registration to stop new signups. Existing investors can still sign in.

People who click Create Investor Profile on one of your public raise pages, or the link in a raise invitation, sign up for that raise. After they confirm their email they go straight back to it, and into the investment steps when it's open.

What investors do

  1. Enter their name, email and a password. Phone is optional.
  2. Enter the six-digit code we email them. That one code also turns on email sign-in codes for their account, so they aren't asked for a second code.
  3. Complete your setup steps (with Minimal, just their details and how they plan to invest).

Approve automatically

Approve Automatically is on by default. Once someone confirms their email and finishes setup, they're approved right away when:

  • you invited them (a portal invitation or a raise invitation sent to that email),
  • that email already belongs to a contact in your CRM, or
  • they signed up from one of your raise pages.

Everyone else shows as Awaiting Review. Click Review Every Signup to send all new signups to review instead. Each automatic approval is recorded in your audit log with the rule that approved it, and the list shows it under the person's status.

Review registrations

The Investor Registrations list shows people who signed up. Use the filter to see Awaiting Review, Awaiting Email Confirmation, Completing Setup, Approved, or Declined.

For each person you can:

  • Click CRM Profile to open their contact record.
  • Click Setup Profile to review their answers after they confirm their email.
  • Click Approve Access or Decline.

What approval does

Approval lets the person invest. Syndelo opens the investing account they described during setup (Individual, Joint, Trust, LLC or Other Entity, or IRA), named after their entity when they gave one, with their legal name, address and phone already filled in. When you approve someone yourself, you can link an existing Investing Account instead. Before you link one, check that this person has the right to see its records.

You can add a Message to the Investor when declining. It shows in their portal.

Approval doesn't verify accreditation or approve any investment. You still review each application, and self-reported qualifications are saved to the contact as Self-Reported, never as verified.

Choose your setup steps

Go to Settings and choose Investor Setup. Click one of the presets to publish it in one click:

  • Minimal: name, phone and how they plan to invest. Best for most sponsors.
  • Standard: adds a welcome note and their mailing address.
  • Institutional: requires phone and address, asks about qualifications, and requests entity documents.

You can then switch steps on or off, reorder them, and edit their text. The registration and completion messages are optional; Syndelo uses plain default text until you change them. Steps the investment flow already covers (amounts, qualifications, documents and payout choices) start switched off so investors aren't asked twice.

Publishing applies to new registrations. Investors already in progress keep the version they started.

Syndelo is in preview. eSign and investor payments require live provider setup; a demo or sandbox action does not complete a live transaction. Confirm availability for your workspace before relying on either.
