Syndelo sends emails for your workspace when something happens, such as a capital call, a new document, a payout, or an invitation. You can change the wording of every one of them. Your changes apply to that workspace only.
You need permission to manage workspace settings to make changes. Anyone on your team can read the emails.
Which emails you can edit
Go to Settings, then Automatic Emails under Brand & Messages. The emails are grouped by who gets them:
- Investor Emails: capital calls, payout approvals and payments, new documents, account statements, K-1s and 1099s, investor updates, accreditation reminders and updates, signing requests, raise invitations and openings, waitlist openings, registration approvals, and changed funding instructions.
- Team Emails: investor funding notices, finished reports, and scheduled payout notices.
- Account & Security: workspace invitations, investor email verification, password resets, verification codes, new API keys, and bank instruction alerts.
Each email in the list shows Customized or Default Wording.
Change an email
- Choose an email from the list.
- Edit any of these:
- Subject Line: the subject people see in their inbox.
- Message: the main text. You can use headings, bold, lists, and links.
- Button Wording: the text on the button. Some emails, like verification codes, have no button.
- Footer Note: the small print at the bottom. Leave it empty to remove it.
- Click Save Email.
The change applies to every email of that kind sent after you save.
Use tags for details that change
Details that are different for each email, like the recipient's name, the investment, or an amount, appear as tags such as Recipient Name or Amount Due. Syndelo fills in the real details when it sends the email.
- To add a tag, click Insert Field above the box you're editing and choose one.
- To remove a tag, delete it like any other word.
- Tags for This Email lists every tag that email supports, with a sample value.
Each email only offers the tags it has details for. For example, Due Date is only available in the capital call email.
Preview your changes
Click Preview to see the email next to your edits. The preview updates as you type and uses sample details. Switch between Desktop and Mobile to check both sizes. Nothing is sent. Click Hide Preview to go back to the full list of emails.
Send yourself a test
Click Send Test Email to send the version you're editing to your own email address, filled in with sample details. You don't have to save first. The subject starts with [Test]. Only you receive it.
Go back to the original wording
Click Restore Default, then confirm. This puts back Syndelo's original subject, message, button, and footer for that email. It only affects the email you have open.
What you can't change
Some parts of each email are always included, so investors always get the information they need. The Always Included box under each email lists them. They include:
- The secure link or button destination. You can change the button's wording, but not where it goes.
- Detail tables, such as the amounts in a capital call or payout.
- Your logo, brand color, and workspace name at the top, which come from your branding settings.
The Verification Code message must keep the Code tag, or recipients wouldn't get their code.
Good to know
- Password resets and verification codes use your wording when they go to your investors. Your team members get Syndelo's standard wording, because their sign-in isn't tied to one workspace.
- Security emails aren't saved to the Email Log. That includes password resets, verification codes, new API keys, bank instruction alerts, and funding instruction changes. All other automatic emails appear in the Email Log.
- Reusable templates are separate. To save messages your team sends by hand, see How Do I Use Email Templates?
Syndelo is in preview. eSign and investor payments require live provider setup; a demo or sandbox action does not complete a live transaction. Confirm availability for your workspace before relying on either.
Try It With Sample Data
Sign in to the shared demo workspace as a sponsor or as an investor. No signup, and nothing you do there sends real email or moves money.
